LA story

A last minute winter escape to California testing out the Fujifilm X100V. A place I’d always wondered ‘how it looks and feels in real life’ after seeing the movies, glitz and glamour of Hollywood and of course the endless coastline.

Impressions? Downtown LA and Hollywood area as imagined - extremely busy, dirty and one for the tourists! Marina del Rey to Santa Monica sadly full of drugs and homeless. Some places to avoid unfortunately - not quite as social media likes to tell us!

Hope to revisit soon but head further north to soak in more nature, coastline, national parks and complete the dream of an Oregon road trip with some added forest hikes of course!

The Fujifilm X100V was a blast to use, testing different film recipes and a nice rest from carrying the usual heavy Canon DSLR sports setup on both shoulders! Having a compact that fits in your pocket while travelling through Downtown LA, cycling the coastal paths to Santa Monica Pier was certainly the way to go! ….if only it was built fully weatherproof and could take the odd bump, I would have felt slightly more comfortable!!
